Daily Driving Limit - 9 Hours but allowance is amde for 2 days to be 10 Hours. |

A Driving Week - Is defined as the period of time between 00:00 hours Monday (ie Midnight Sunday) to 24:00 hours Sunday (ie Midnight Sunday) |

Daily Rest Period - 11 hours rest in any 24 hours. This may be reduced to 9 hours but for ONLY 3 times a week. The difference MUST be made up of a rest of at LEAST 8 hours before the end of the following week. NOTE - During these hours the driver MUST be able to do as he pleases with this rest ie no orders must be taken from the company. |

Continous Driving & Breaks - There must be a break of at least 45minutes after 4.5 hours accumulated driving. This can be split up into breaks of at least a minimum of 15mins during the period. A break can be claimed whilst being a passenger of a moving vehicle. Waiting time is also included in this rule. NO OTHER WORK can be done during this break. |

Time - Ensure the correct time is being recorded before inserting the card - this must NOT be changed during the day. |
Weekly Rest - A minimum of 45 hours break during the week. This can be reduced to 36 hours if at base or 24 hours if taken elsewhere. If the reduced rest is taken this must be made up before the end of the 3rd weel following the week in question. |

Multiple Vehicles - If another vehicle is used on the same day and the same tachograph is in use - use the same chart BUT note the details on the back on the chart.
If another vehicle is used and does NOT have the same tachograph - use either manual mode on back of existing chart or use a chart applicable to the tachograph in the 2nd vehicle. |
Weekly/Fortnightly Limits - There is no actual limit during a week but simple calculations will reveal that 56 hours is the maximum. Over a fortnight the maximum limit of driving is 90 hours. This is for ANY two weeks - hence the driving week limits can ne calculated. |

Penalties - Maximim penalty for each offence is £2,000 in a mgistrates court - NOTE there are approx 150 offences that can be committed with tachographs!!! |
